Further Information

Who it’s for

Anyone who wants to stay protected against COVID-19, especially those at higher risk of becoming seriously unwell. This may include older adults, people with certain health conditions, pregnant women, carers, frontline health or social care workers, or anyone advised to have a seasonal COVID vaccination. You’re welcome to drop in or book a slot online, depending on availability.

What we can check

Before giving the vaccine, our pharmacy team will check whether the COVID vaccine is suitable for you. We may ask about your age, health conditions, current medicines, allergies, pregnancy status, and when you last had a COVID vaccine or COVID infection. This helps us make sure the vaccination is given safely and at the right time.

What happens

Your vaccination takes place in our private consultation room and only takes a few minutes. A trained member of the pharmacy team will ask a few health questions, explain the vaccine, and give the injection in your upper arm. You may be asked to wait briefly afterwards, especially if you have a history of allergies or feel unwell after injections.

What your results mean

The COVID vaccine helps your immune system recognise and respond to the virus, reducing your risk of serious illness, hospitalisation, and complications. Protection builds over time after vaccination. We’ll explain any common side effects to look out for, such as a sore arm, tiredness, headache, mild fever, or muscle aches, and advise what to do if you feel unwell afterwards.

About COVID Vaccine

The COVID vaccine helps protect against serious illness caused by coronavirus. As protection can reduce over time and new variants can appear, booster vaccinations may be recommended for people at higher risk. Having your vaccine at the pharmacy is a quick and convenient way to stay up to date with protection and receive clear advice from a trained healthcare professional.
